Garmin Oregon 550t
In
September 2009 we got a Garmin
Oregon 550t as a supplement - and later replacement - for our good
old Garmin GPSmap
60CSx.
We have used the Oregon in Danmark and as our tuorist guide in Rom.
The GPSr is quick to determine precise positions and it is easy to
use due to its touch screen.
The built-in digital camera is fine at short distances but is not
very capable at longer distances and when lighting is difficult.

Mostly
we use the camera for documenting various information on signs or
posters and the camera performs very well doing this.

But
recording landscapes is not its strongest feature.
Conclusion: We are very satisfied with the GPSr in most situations.
It performs well and is quick and simple to operate.
Garmin GPSmap 60CSx
Late January 2006 we received our new GPSmap 60CSx
as a replacement for our 2 years old Garmin GPSmap
60C.
It didn't take long to realize: Garmin's GPSmap 60CSx is much
better than its predecessor GPSmap 60C because of its SIRFstarIII chipset
and thus its far better ability to receive
satellite signals and not least its ability to use microSD
storage cards with a capacity of 2 GB.
